Grandmaster

Nam Won Kang

  • 8th Dan Black Belt
  • Founder of Master Kang’s Martial Arts
  • Multi-Time Taekwondo World Champion
  • Former coach of South Korean, Vietnamese, and Indian National Taekwondo teams

Grandmaster Nam Won Kang began practicing Taekwondo at the age of 4 in South Korea. His father encouraged him to take up martial arts as a means to strengthen his self-defense skills and mental development.

He decided to pass on the Taekwondo knowledge and skills he had acquired to others, especially children. Before embarking on this journey, he became a coach and trained students on the Korean, Vietnamese, and Indian national teams. He also had the amazing opportunity to lead the professional athletics to compete in the Olympics as the team’s Head Coach. Grandmaster Kang himself has a long history of competitive victories in martial arts, having won numerous World Championship awards.

Grandmaster Kang’s experience instructing young students has earned him an exceptional reputation. He understands young martial artists need guidance, so he strives to instill in them Respect, Discipline, and Self-control – values that reach beyond the dojang into all facets of life. His devotion to mentoring students is clear from the individualized instruction he provides each one.

Despite his responsibilities as a martial arts instructor, Grandmaster Kang was able to earn a doctorate degree in physical education, a rare accomplishment for someone in his field.
